Building a strong foundation begins with this…

Hello Dear Beautiful Woman!

This past week, I had the great honor of holding space for a group of soulful women, in my women’s group, Soul Sessions. We had a powerful session diving into self compassion and compassionate communication.

We noticed and looked at what words we use to speak to ourselves and what we allow to come into our lives. We used the visual of salt and light, as an anchor and a filter, to remind us to speak and allow words that are salt & light…healing, bring out our flavor :), sustain us. Words that shine light into the dark places within and reveal more of who we truly are.

A couple of days later, I attended a play with my son for his field trip, called Milo & The Phantom Tollbooth. The play was an adaptation of the classic by Norton Juster.

In this play, Milo, goes on a journey. Things in the land of Wisdom are not going well because Rhyme and Reason have been held prisoner. He comes to meet several people throughout his journey. One is the King of Words.

During his journey, he comes under attack by demons…words that represent Fear and Doubt, that threaten to stop him, but using his special box, gifted to him by the King of Words, he opens it to release the words, Truth, Bravery and Strength. Releasing these powerful words blasts away the demons, represented by the words Fear and Doubt.

He also carries with him a special box full of healing sounds. When he becomes afraid and frightened by the noise that becomes too loud on his journey, he opens the box to release sounds of peace and joy, that float out of this box and into the air all around him, diffusing the confusion and restoring peace.

This also propels him forward on his journey, until he is ultimately able to finally reach the place where Rhyme and Reason have been held prisoner and can break them free.

When Rhyme and Reason are freed and allowed back into the world, all is right again in the Land of Wisdom.

He then goes back to the Phantom Tollbooth to receive his next assignment with a new map for his next journey.

This is not the entire summary of the play, only the parts that powerfully made their way into my experience and my own interpretation of what I was taking in.

I immediately recognized the parallel theme of the power of words, the power of what we allow in and what words that we can choose instead, to combat fear and confusion, the words we use towards ourselves and that we allow in, that take prisoner, our own rhyme and reason.

This theme of using compassionate communication, as we actively choose to practice self compassion, were once again brought powerfully into my knowing.

This is an essential key to building our foundation as women.

A foundation solidly formed, is a foundation rooted in self compassion.

In this strong foundation, we can then allow this self compassion to flow out from us to those around us in a real and fully embodied way, as compassion for others.

I know you desire this. You may be on your own journey right now to find it.

Just as Milo returned to the Phantom Tollbooth for his next journey, you too, may be receiving your map for your own next assignment.

Whatever that journey may be for you, I encourage you to take up this practice of self compassion, based in compassionate communication, using words that heal, bring out your flavor, and shine light into the dark places of your life.

What we speak into our own lives and what we allow in, will form the foundation for our experience.

Building a strong foundation begins with our beliefs about ourselves, that are made up of thoughts and spoken inward with words.

In this season of fall that is quickly going into winter, I invite you to set aside some time for journaling and reflection to have a greater awareness of what you want to plant now to see bloom in the spring.

Here are some powerful questions that you can begin with:

  • Begin to notice, what you would like to release, to allow to fall away, which no longer serves you, in your life journey?

  • Would one of these ways of being, that you wish to let fall away, be the ways in which you speak into your own life with your thoughts composed of powerful life shaping words? What are some of those words?

  • What new words that hold power, heal, sustain, bring out your realness, and shine light into the dark places, will you replace them with and plant the seeds that will bloom as truth in your life?

  • How will you speak them? When will you speak them? How will you open and allow yourself to receive them?

I can’t wait to hear what you discover during this time of reflection and I encourage you to get in touch with me.  Let me know, what powerful words you are committing to speak into your life, as you embrace self compassion?

If you are curious about how to do more of this kind of soul work in a safe and supportive community, I invite you to check out Soul Sessions for Women. It’s a truly special place created for this deeper connection to yourself and to others.

If you are in a season of life, where you really crave 1-1 support, to help you become aware of what may be holding you hostage, keeping you stuck or in a way of being that you know is not where you desire to be, I encourage you to set up a call. Let’s get on your map together, uncover what is blocking you from moving ahead in your journey and find a breakthrough so you can embrace what is calling you, in your life and your body.

The women I work with are making powerful shifts in their lives towards who they most want to be and what they most want to embody on their life journey!

I currently have 3 spots open for private coaching and if you desire to be one of them, let’s chat. Here is the link to set up a call.
